We
rent for family vacations-- We rent
primarily to families and the "responsible
guest" must be, at a minimum, the age of 25. We
will consider non-related guests on a case by case basis
(example: two couples traveling together). Call us
to discuss specific cases. We have a "No-Group"
policy. We do not rent for prom, graduation,
wedding receptions, and similar types of non-family
vacation functions. Absolutely no house parties,
receptions, keg parties, overcrowding the premises, or
other similar gatherings!! Please be honest when
reserving to avoid problems during your stay.
Privacy---All
communications between Guale and customers are strictly
private. E-mail addresses, personal information,
addresses and telephone numbers are considered
confidential and never provided to any other
organizations. Your contact information, e-mail, phone
numbers, etc, are used only to provide information you
request or for specific trip arrangements.
Communication between customers and Guale is
initiated only by the customer.
Credit
Card Required--
Guest is required to provide credit card number as a
guarantee/damage deposit. Guest agrees to pay all rent,
accept all terms of the lease agreement and accept all
liability for any damage beyond normal wear and tear
during the term of the lease. If Guest fails to do so,
guest understands that these costs will be charged to
the credit card on file and all credit card sales are

Payment
Methods and Scheduling--
We offer the following payment options:.
Personal checks, credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, or
Discover), and traveler’s checks. All
returned checks will be charged a $25.00 fee and we do
not re-deposit any returned checks An
initial deposit of fifty percent (50%) is due within 10
days of reservation (along with the signed Rental
Agreement/Contract). The balance of the total
charges are due thirty (30) days prior to Guest arrival
date. Last Minuet
Reservations: All reservations made
within thirty (30) days from arrival date require full
payment at the time the reservation is placed. We do
not accept personal checks for any payments if the
arrival date is within 30 days of the date your
reservation is requested. You may either express
mail a check or use your Visa, MasterCard, or Discover
at the time you make the reservation.
Cancellations for last minute reservations are subject
to the standard cancellation policy.
Maximum
Occupancy and Parking-- We have set
maximum occupancy and parking limits. We strictly
enforces these limits. The maximum occupancy is
four persons and is determined by the available beds
provided. Off street parking is limited to two
vehicles with space in the back yard for a small (~20
feet) boat and trailer.
Check
In-Check Out-- Check-in
time is no earlier than 4:00 PM Sunday; checkout is no
later than 11:00 AM Sunday A charge of one
full night’s rental for a check-in earlier than
03:00 PM or a check-out later that 11:00 AM may be
assessed. Other check in/check out arrangements
may be made on a case by case basis. Please call us to
discuss.
Check-Out
Procedures -- Please
complete the following Check-Out Procedures: (1) Wash
and put away all dishes, utensils and cookware.
(2) Take all trash to outside trashcan. Place
trashcan at the curb the night before trash pick-up days
(Tuesday and Friday). (3) Strip all beds
and place all sheets and towels in basket provided.
Leave bedspreads on the beds. (4) Turn off all
lights and turn A/C up to 85 degrees or heat to 60
degrees. (5) Remove all food from
refrigerator and storage areas. Be sure refrigerator and
freezer doors are securely closed. (6)
Sweep floors of excess sand/dirt. (It’s best to
try to avoid tracking in such excess) (7)
Close and lock all doors and windows.. If anything
is damaged or not in working order, please report
immediately.
Cancellation/Rescheduling--
Because this cottage is privately owned, cancellations
affect owners significantly. Cancellations,
rescheduling, or changes must be submitted in writing
(US Post or e-mail at tybeecottage@gmail.com)
and confirmed received by Guale, Ltd. more than thirty
(30) days prior to check-in date, in order to receive
refund. Said changes regardless of reason made within
thirty (30) or less days of your check-in date will
result in a forfeiture of moneys paid. All moneys paid
are non-transferable to another date. Less than 30 day
cancellations refunds will be given if Agent can rebook
said dates with another guest. NO SHOW/EARLY DEPARTURE–
Agent is not responsible for Guests inability to arrive
or if Guest chooses to depart early for any reason. No
refunds or rebates will be offered
Hurricane,
Weather, or Other Evacuation: In
the event of an government ordered evacuation due to
hurricanes or other storms, you are required by state
law to evacuate property. You may choose to leave
due to “Storm Warnings”, “Voluntary
Evacuation” or for other personal reasons. In any
event no refunds will be given by the Agent or Owners.
We recommend for travels during hurricane season or if
you anticipate other early departures, that you to
research and purchase trip cancellation insurance.
Trip
Insurance
– For guest’s protection we suggest Trip
Insurance. Such insurance is available from a
number of independent vendors. If guest is concerned
with the possibility of cancellation within 30 days of
arrival we suggest acquiring insurance coverage. One

Damage--
Guest is
responsible for notifying us immediately upon check-in
if the property is found in less than good condition or
any damage is discovered. If damages occur during
your stay, please notify us immediately. If there
is any damage to the property or its furnishings, the
Guest agrees to be responsible for the cost to repair
said damages done by either Guest, Guest family,
or Guest pet.
Alcohol
and Illegal Drugs--
Drinking
of alcohol by persons under the legal age of twenty-one
(21) is prohibited. Illegal drug use is strictly
prohibited. Should a member of the Guest’s guest
party be arrested for underage drinking or illegal drug
use or such be observed at the property, the rental
agreement will be terminated and the Guests evicted.
Furnishings--.When
you arrive at the property, it should be clean and ready
for occupancy. If you find unsatisfactory
conditions, linen or towel shortages, or any other
problems please call us. We ask that guests do not
move furniture or accessories around. Moving or
dragging furniture can cause significant and expensive
damage to the floor surfaces. Certain
areas in the property are locked for the owner’s
personal storage and are not included in this rental.
Bed
Linen, Towels, Supplies-- We
provide set of bed and bath linens
to accommodate four people and the beds in the cottage.
These linens are not changed during your stay.
Toilet tissue and trash bags are supplied. The
towels are for in cottage use only. Please supply
your own beach and
outdoor use towels. Cleaning supplies, broom, vacuum
cleaner, and mop are supplied.
Use
of Dock Facilities --
Guest agrees to hold harmless the cottage owners and
Guale, Ltd. if he or any of his party are harmed should
they choose to use the dock facilities and Horsepen
Creek. If Guest chooses to use the dock facilities, he
is aware of and agrees to the following:
(a)
Hand rails will be used at all times when traversing the
facilities. (b) No running or “horse
play” on the facilities. (c) No
jumping or diving from floating dock as there is a
potential for shallow water or submerged obstructions.
(d) Children must be accompanied by, and under
the direct supervision of parents or guardians at all
times when they use the dock facilities. (e)
Horsepen Creek is a tidal creek and water levels will
fluctuate up to 9 feet on approximately 12 hour
intervals. Current flow can be swift during mid
tide changes and reverses direction from flood to ebb.
High flow currents can be 1 to 2 mph and there is almost
no time when some level of current is not present.
(f) Hazards when swimming or wading may be
present: examples include shell cuts, stings from sea
life, encounters with floating/submerged debris,
sunburn, etc. Shoes should be worn on dock to avoid
splinters.
Pet
Policy Small pets may
be accepted. Please discuss on a case by case
basis with us and the following items must be adhered
to:
a)
Pets must be completely housebroken, well behaved, and
pest free. Guest will be charged an extra cleaning fee
if pet hair causes a delay in cleaning services. (b)
Guest will not use any linen on pets other than provided
by himself. Pets are not allowed on beds or furniture
(c) Guest agrees to pay for any damages caused by
pets. (d) If pets have an accident in cottage,
all clean up will be performed by the Guest. Guest will
police waste from grounds and deposit in outside garbage
cans. Guest agrees that failure to comply with clean-ups
of either inside or outside cottage will result in an
additional cleaning charge. Pets are not allowed
on furniture. (e) Guest agrees to be in full
control of their pets at all times & take full
responsibility for pets well being. (f) Guest
agrees pet will not be left outside, on porches or
anywhere that barking will disturb neighbors or that
injury will occur to the pet. (g) If any of these
Pet Policy items are not met, Guest is in violation of
this Agreement/Contract. (h) Guest agrees that by
signing this Agreement/Contract, they are authorizing
Agent to charge Guests’ credit card on file for
any damages sustained.
